Freshwater Watch

FreshWater Watch, run by Earthwatch, is global citizen science tool for the collection of water quality data in rivers, lakes, ponds, and wetlands.

We make it easy for projects across the globe to collect the same core measurements (phosphate, nitrate, turbidity, and various visual indicators) and upload them to a common online platform. This generates new local information and robust data, which is used to inform scientific research and environmental action by Earthwatch scientists and partners worldwide.

Data collection started in 2012, and, to date, over 24,000 datasets have been collected globally.
