The Riverfly Interest Group hosted the first Riverfly Conference on 25th November 2004 at the 
Bringing together over 160 delegates, representatives from statutory bodies, fishing, conservation and academic organisations explored the current status of, and concerns for, riverfly populations. The conference saw the establishment fo the Riverfly Partnership and the new launch of CAMSTARS the joint initiative by the Riverfly Recording Schemes. The strong interest shown in the subject of riverflies and water quality propelled current debate into both wider and political circles.
